2006-05-30 (14.00 pm) : "An Approach to Data-driven Controller Design : Correlation-based tuning"

At Euler building

Organized by Mathematical Engineering

Speaker : Ljubisa Miskovic (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Suisse/CESAME)
Abstract : Correlation-based tuning (CbT) is a data-driven controller tuning method intended to address the model following problem. The underlying idea of this method is inspired rom the well-known correlation approach in system identification. The main idea is to modify the control objective so that, instead of minimizing a norm of the error signal, one tries to make the closed-loop output error uncorrelated with the reference signal. This way, the closed-loop output error will mainly contain the contribution of noise and perfect model-following can be achieved. In this talk, the basic features of this method as well as some extensions will be presented.
