Abstract :
Sufficient conditions are reported for the existence of
a solution to the positive linear quadratic (LQ) problem.
These conditions are established by using a Newton-type iterative
scheme converging to the unique stabilizing positive semi-definite
solution of the algebraic Riccati equation. These results are obtained
for stable and detectable linear continuous time-invariant positive systems.
